Project  EPIDENGUE

The ongoing dengue epidemic in La Réunion: Building the transition between the diverse knowledge of the population and the anti-infective properties of traditional pharmacopoeia derived from local biodiversity.

This project aims to study the impact of the dengue viral protein NS1, predominantly produced by the liver, on the functionality of endothelial cells subjected to factors present in the blood of diabetic individuals.

This project, developed between the two UMRs, allowed us to investigate the role of NS1 from DENV-2 Run18 in the disruption of vascular endothelium in diabetic individuals.
