Anaëlle VARAIS and Kiliann HEINRICH join the unit to study wildlife
We welcome two new members to the DYSIIS team who will be working on rodents and bats.

Anaëlle VARAIS is responsible for organizing and conducting rodent trapping and sampling on Réunion Island as part of the RatEx and DEBS-PLAGUE projects.
Her work contributes to studying exposure and resistance to rodenticides for the conservation of the Réunion harrier (papangue), zoonotic diseases (leptospirosis, murine typhus, hantavirus), and the potential re-emergence of plague in the area.

Kiliann HEINRICH is involved in monitoring populations of the Reunion free-tailed bat as part of the OMEGA project.
He carries out fieldwork to better understand this species' population dynamics, habitat use, and roosting preferences. He will also be responsible for analyzing samples in the laboratory for epidemiological studies.
