The University of La Réunion is hiring a professor specializing in host–pathogen interaction genomics, with applications to the study of emerging and zoonotic diseases, and with a focus on the specific challenges of the islands in the southwestern Indian Ocean. This position is part of an interdisciplinary approach that promotes the “One Health” concept, aimed at analyzing and preventing risks arising from the complex interactions between human, animal, and environmental health.
The professor will join the UMR PIMIT, and its/her research may align with one or more of our thematic areas:
-- Exposure and susceptibility of human populations to infectious agents
-- Eco-epidemiology of infectious agents in island ecosystems
-- Infectious mechanisms and control of emerging zoonoses
Teaching duties will include courses in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Genomics within the undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, the Master's program in Biology and Health, as well as in medical and paramedical training programs.
